IAPT Grants
IAPT’s Research Grants support research in systematics, nomenclature, and floristics of algae, fungi, and plants. Applications are open to current or recent students and young investigators who have obtained their PhD degree no more than 1 year ago. Applications from all countries will be considered, but applications from countries considered as low-, lower-middle-, and upper-middle-income countries based on the World Development Indicators will be given higher priority. The award should preferably be used for supporting travel to institutions, herbaria, laboratory investigations, or fieldwork. We particularly encourage travel to visit major herbarium collections relevant to the group, and interactions with specialists to build taxonomic linkages, spur future work, and build taxonomic capacity.

Small Collections Grants
IAPT’s Small Collections Grants aim to support the improvement and maintenance of botanical collections (herbaria) of algae, fungi, and plants. Collection improvements include digitization projects, processing specimen backlogs, shipping endangered collections to other herbaria, curation and conservation of specimens, and other herbaria-related activities. Requests for materials to mount herbarium specimens will also be considered. Grants are open to small herbaria with up to 100,000 specimens. Proposals from herbaria located in any part of the world will be considered, but proposals to support herbaria in countries considered as low-, lower-middle-, and upper-middle-income countries based on the World Development Indicators will be given higher priority. Herbaria must be listed in the Index Herbariorum.
