The lectotypification of four Linnaean names in the genus Juncus: J. articulatus, J. inflexus, J. pilosus (≡ Luzula pilosa) and J. stygius is discussed. The designation of the nomenclatural types is based on the consultation of Linnaeus’s original material and the literature cited in the respective protologues. The names are lectotypified using specimens from LINN and UPS (Burser’s collection) herbaria, and a Morison’s illustration (1699) for the name Juncus inflexus. An epitype is also designated for J. inflexus due to ambiguity in the interpretation of the lectotype.
